Rise and shine, Toby ♪
Toby here, is a stray feline who visits our front porch every now and then,
to claim possession over our shoe mat by spreading his body on top of it... like jam.
I named him Toby from tabby, as in tabby cat. (I know. I amaze myself sometimes ♪)
He started chillin' on our front porch a couple of months ago.
It's nice to have him around, but we didn't want him to come to our house just for food,
so we never fed him, (he's a bit tubby, so he's covered)
but unlike cats in general, he still comes around anyway, so we like that part of him,
and play with him for a couple of minutes every time he visits.
He's not there everyday, but he usually comes in once a week or so.

Another regular is Orange.
Orange is another stray cat that wonders our neighborhood.
I named her that way for her blotches of orange on her fur.

She's younger than Toby and started visiting our house a few months later after Toby did.
At first she only came along with Toby
(which lead us to think that she was his girlfriend)
She was also very shy and reluctant to come near us
but being the animal lovers that we are,
in time, she felt quite at home.
Now she visits almost everyday,
and she's even more playful than Toby.
If you get her to lie on her side, you could start playing that
"I Wanna Scratch Your Hand" game.
She's a bit more sceptic than Toby
and jumpier too.
But I guess that's just her personality.
She also loves to sleep during her stay at our front porch and establishes her dominion over the plastic bench,
mostly in a Cleopatra like manner.
She also likes to act as a door-stopper... from the outside, preventing us from gaining access to the front porch.

Personally, I'm not much of a cat person,

ReplyDeleteThe cool thing about Orange is that Tortoise-shell/tabby fur of hers. Usually it's one or the other, but both at the same time makes for cool camouflage! And yes, female cats are especially jumpy nutso. After dealing with 6 at once, I'm used to it >_>
