Designing characters for an animated TV series is a lot of fun, but there's a catch.
You can't add too many details in it!
I had to refrain myself from adding a lot of details on this one.
I'm a bit used to adding little details here and there so I'm a bit out of my comfort zone here.
But then again, that rule makes perfect sense since every line you add to the design,
will have to be redrawn 12 to 13 times per second later during the animation process.
I've started animating the trailer for this project and...Man!
A single line means a lot! O_o
You shouldn't have added that tattoo then. Imagine animating that complex design at 12 fps~
ReplyDeleteOn the side note. Doesn't his..err...rump...look a bit too flat on the side view?
Thankfully, for this project, close-up shots to his left hand are few.
DeleteYeah, his 'rump' was a bit tricky for me. Not very experienced in drawing them.
but it's still good for a laugh so,
all is well~
Also, that bracer could flatten it a bit too, so that's another way to look at it. >_>
DeleteOh, now that I think of it, I think his waist cover thingy did bother me a little.
DeleteOh well~ Hopefully I'll become better with time and practice.
