A commission for Tsarin.
The reference sheet provided was pretty remarkable for this one, so I didn't do much on designing the outfits and such. I only modified Ave's shoulder guard a bit, but that design too was taken from the excising gauntlet design.
There was quite a few changes on this commission, like when I changed the sunset hour to noon, so I wasn't sure of how it turned out at first, but I'm glad it turned out well. A lot of time and effort was poured into this one. It's my first time doing a commission of this scale (2 full body characters + background).Pheew~ I enjoyed painting this, but I'm also glad that it's finished.
Usually do warm colored pictures, so this one was quite refreshing from my normal color palette. And as usual, I added a touch of magic in it (the magic compass). I also realized that I have a thing for particles. I use them ever so often. Maybe because I like movement, and particles make the invisible flow, visible.
Another thing I like was the accidental SSS (sub-surface scattering) effect on Tsarin's staff, making it almost look like it was made out of ivory.
Love it. Love how it turned out. Love how the word chinchilla is pronounced~
