A Step in Time

My first Matte Painting commission. A special order from Tsarin.

It's my first time matte painting on a scale this large and it took quite a lot of effort to do, but I'm satisfied with the way it turned out. Personally I still prefer Digital Painting for its flexibility and creativity of drawing something from scratch, even though the results of Matte Paintings are highly realistic, but I guess it's fun to do in balance of my Digital Paintings. This is after all, one of my line of work at the office.

    1. Ahahaha, in a nut shell you just look for pictures and matches with the background. You can do this through all sorts of ways depending on your preference~

  2. *picks jaw up off the floor* Even after layering photo samples, this is fantastic! Your sense of composition amazes me, and the additional structural elements you added work beautifully with the existing architecture. Absolutely stunning :D

    1. To be honest, I don't think I played much part on the layout considering that I used a base picture for the entire background, but thank you so much for the complement.
