New Shell

As usual, it is my job to clean the turtle pond and and the turtle tanks every week.

While waiting for the pond to drain completely, I remembered that Pen was still shedding. So I thought it'd be cool to take a picture of the before and after shed.

Congrats Pen! It seems you'll be getting a slight red shine to your shell this year.

Pan went on and shed a few weeks earlier this year. She got herself a new lime green coat with her signature yellow stripes. How chic ♪

 

These are what's left of the old shell plates. Gathering them while cleaning the pond is pretty cool. Aside from knowing that the turtles are healthily aging, it feels like excavating an ancient fossil.

And of course everybody has an equal chance to be famous online~

So I took a picture of the boys as well. Say, cheese!
