(take two...) I can vouch for that. Living in Nashville, I see tons of singer/songwriter/all-of-the-above/artists that are forced doing pro bono work because there's so many of them and it's extremely hard to stand out. Everyone sounds like everybody else, so I hear them get lots of requests for songs by other overplayed artists and not their own original music... Sad, really.
